Food Porn of The Week: Spinach Artichoke Quiche

Quiche and spinach artichoke dip are just two of my favorite dishes.  So when I found this recipe for spinach artichoke quiche I instantly knew I had to give it a try.  The results were absolutely delightful.  Instead of using asiago and parmigiano-reggiano cheese I opted for gruyere.  The recipe calls for pine nuts.  These gave the quiche a nice texture.  This is perfect for brunch accompanied by a mixed green salad.

Eye Candy of The Week

Another work week has come to a close and I couldn't be happier.  This weekend I plan on spending some time with friends and family, possibly digging into some Lychee Pinkberry, and hopefully getting my DIY on.  Make it a great weekend everyone!

Style Icon: Elizabeth Taylor

I was deeply saddened by the passing of Elizabeth Taylor.  When it came to style, Elizabeth Taylor was fearless. Glamour just exuded from her pores.  The diamonds, the hair, the body, THOSE EYES; she worked it out everywhere she went. Her extraordinary style and and kind heart are two of the many things that will be missed.  RIP Gorgeous.

Cross Your Heart

The cross body bag is a warm weather staple for me.  I mean who really wants to carry a huge heavy bag when you are going for a leisurely stroll around the park?  As long as it can carry my essentials (lipgloss, cell phone, cash, and keys) I'm good to go.  Here are some fantastic options for the coming months...

Food Porn of The Week: Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes

When I found these muffin top liners at Marshall's I knew I had to get them.  Instead of making the obvious choice of a muffin top I decided making mini pineapple upside down cakes might be an even better idea.  They did not disappoint.  I bought Pineapple Supreme cake mix and just followed this easy recipe.  These are perfect for entertaining.

We Are All Connected

I had to take a break from regular posting to urge you guys to lend a hand to those suffering in Japan. We may go through our day complaining and getting frustrated over things that seem so important, but at the end of the day it's usually something small and petty that can be fixed.  As I watch the news everyday I get that same lump in my throat.  My heart aches for everyone there.  Japan needs us now more than ever.  Please help by donating to the Red Cross (here) and keeping them in your prayers.

Spring Into The 70s

{Tracey Reese Spring 2011}
The seventies have got to be one of my favorite eras fashion-wise.   I could spend hours just looking through old family albums drooling over all of the fantastic clothes my mom, aunts, and cousins used to wear.  Whenever 70s inspired fashion comes back on trend I am one happy camper.  This spring is all about seventies glamour.  Here are few key pieces to achieve the look...

Food Porn of The Week: Mini Buffalo Chicken Meatballs

{iphone photo}
The guys from The Meatball Shop were on the Martha Stewart show and made their super easy recipe for mini buffalo chicken meatballs.  I decided to make them and bring them to my mom's house as part of our traditional Sunday lunch.  Its safe to say they were a hit because they were all gone in about five minutes.  I will definitely be making these again for my next get together.
