Scenes From The Weekend

{party prepping}
What a great weekend!  We had a party in celebration of my niece's first birthday, spent some much needed quality time with my dad, and just felt truly blessed for having so many special people in our lives. On a random note, can we please celebrate Thanksgiving BEFORE Christmas? Just sayin'. Anyway, here are some shots from the weekend. More on Jada's party to come...

 {baked guava cupcakes with cream cheese icing for a dinner party at my house}
 {jazzed up my nails with some Salon Effects}
 {took some time to enjoy the crunch of the falling leaves}

F*ck Yeah Nail Art

As you know I love my Sally Hansen Salon Effects because they are so easy to apply, but I am always highly impressed with hand designed nail art. I have found endless inspiration visiting this blog. The name is a little naughty, but I promise you will be so impressed with all the creative designs out there. I want to try out the marbling effect ASAP.

My New Nail Favorites

 After trying out Sally Hansen's Salon Effects for the first time a few weeks ago I have been hooked ever since.  They come in a wide array of designs and stay put for up to ten days.  Pictured above is "Frock Star" a fun mix of multi colored glitter.  I like them way more than these for sure.  The quality is better as well as the price which is a huge plus in my book.
I've also been using Disappearing Trick by Essie which is a conditioning cuticle remover.  It's perfect when you are in between manicures and have dry cuticles.  All you do is apply it to the cuticles, push them back with cuticle pusher and wipe off the excess.  The results are pretty good especially for being done at home.
 {another plus about the Salon Effects is that them come with a mini cuticle pusher and nail file}
