Duchess Delights at My One Night Only

{filmed & edited by Christian Santiago}
Earlier last month I had the pleasure of participating in an event for My One Night Only.  Sweets and treats from Duchess Delights were provided to guest throughout the evening.   My One Night Only is a beauty, photography, and events concierge for all occasions. At the gala three high school senior girls prom dreams were able to become a reality thanks to the generosity of various sponsors and donors.  It was a wonderful evening that I was very proud to be a  part of.

Life Lately

 {Josiah on his 2nd Birthday}
Sometimes all you need is a nice gloomy Saturday.  At least that's how I felt this past weekend.  I really did nothing imparticular.  Ran some errands, prepped some cake pop orders, gave macaron making another go, among other things.  Here are a few shots from the past two weeks...

 {had my first professional manicure in over 7 months.  I think my cuticles scared the manicurist}

 {indulged in a few (I use the word few very lightly) of my bro-in-law's mom's AMAZING homemade rainbow cookies}

Life Lately

 {last week we welcomed our first snow storm.  I'm using the term "welcomed" very loosely}
I don't know about you, but I am in total disbelief that Thanksgiving is next week!  That being said the menu planning has commenced.  On a separate note life after Sandy is slowly, but surely getting back to normal.  Chris and I ventured out to the mall this weekend and it was worse than shopping during the holidays.  Total madness.  I think everybody and their mama just wanted to get out of the house.  The experience just solidified the fact that most of my Christmas shopping will be done online.  I really can't deal.
Last, but not least I made these AMAZING apple dumplings.  The recipe is ridiculously easy, so much so that I have it memorized.  The secret ingredient is Mountain Dew.  Yes, Mountain Dew.  I don't know what it does all I know is that these were the best things ever and I am not eating carbs for the next few days.  Have a great week!
 {last Friday we went to the Mr. Mustart solo show.  Check out an awesome video of the show here}

Scenes From The Weekend

{gave myself an at home mani}
Happy Monday, y'all! To say getting out of bed this morning was difficult would be a total understatement. Today's gloomy weather is ideal for staying under the covers, but duty calls. Had a great weekend; Spent time with our families and went strawberry picking for the first time ever. I'll share more about that experience tomorrow. In the meantime check out some shots from this past weekend...

1st Birthday Cakebite Pops

I was hired to make these cakebite pops for a first birthday party. White chocolate "wrappers" and pink "frosting" created the perfect backdrop for pastel sprinkles and # 1s made out of fondant. The flavor selections were devils food, red velvet, and birthday cake (vanilla confetti). The perfect party favor to celebrate such a milestone occasion.
