Strawberry Mostachon

 When I saw this recipe being made by the fabulous Marcela Valladolid I knew I had to try it.  I couldn't think of a better way to make use of our freshly picked strawberries.  This strawberry meringue cake, aka mostachon incorporates Maria cookies which instantly take me back to my grandmas house when I was a little girl.  The delicious frosting tastes like a very light cheesecake.  When topped with fresh berries it's basically a piece of summer by the slice.

Chorizo & Potato Flautas

 I'm a huge fan of Marcela Valladolid and her Food Network show Mexican Made Easy. When I saw her make this recipe I couldn't believe how easy it was and knew I had to give it a try. These delcious flautas consist of simple ingredients that create huge flavors. The perfect finishing touch to these crunchy snacks was a little Mexican crema.
