Scenes From The Weekend

{baked tons of cookies; pictured are chocolate sugar cookies with peppermint centers}
 How was everyone's holiday weekend?  I had a great one with all my loved ones.  Here's a quick look into what went down...
 {spent Christmas Eve at Christian's aunt's house; don't you love Josiah's Christmas sweater?}
 {after 12 we headed to my mom's house to open some gifts; highlight of the night was Jada's reaction to all of her gifts}
 {wore the blouse Jill got me on Christmas Day}
{some of my stocking stuffers}
 {celebrated mom's bday with our traditional tapas and sangria as seen here}
{Merry Birthday, mom!}

DIY: Cupcake Liner Rosettes

{Use up to a dozen liners for each flower. The more liners you use, the fuller the flower}
Here is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to add a touch of whimsy to your holiday gifts. All you will need is some cupcake liners and glue (hot glue works best).
 {Fold liners in half}

 {make center by rolling up the halved liner}
 {glue to bottom of liner}
 {nestle folded liners inside one another and glue.  Mold and shape to create your rosette}
{glue your flowers to your holiday gifts for some extra special packaging}

2nd Annual Sugar Cookie Decorating Sunday

This Sunday was our 2nd annual sugar cookie decorating soiree, or as I called it Sugar Cookiepalooza.  This year we were way more prepared. Instead of relying on a pre-made kit I made both the sugar cookie dough and royal icing from scratch. We also had plenty of tools to let our creative juices flow. I think it's safe to say we have improved greatly from last year.

Scenes From The Weekend

{started off the weekend with some Riondo Pink}
This weekend was full of holiday cheer. My mom, sisters and I took my niece to the mall for her first picture with Santa. Jada handled the two and a half hour wait way better than we did. Yesterday we decorated sugar cookies (more on that tomorrow). I still have to finish up my Christmas shopping so I am on the verge of a mini breakdown.
Woosah!

Scenes From The Weekend

{bought a tiny poinsettia from Trader Joe's}
This past weekend put us in official holiday party mode.  Our little cocktail party was a blast.  This week I have to concentrate on finishing up that Christmas shopping ; /
How are you doing with your shopping list?
{yep, it was that kinda party}

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

 {St. Patrick's Cathedral}
As mentioned here, last week Chris and I headed out to the city and took pictures of the amazing store fronts. It's kind of become a little tradition of our's. We even took a stroll inside of Gaga's Workshop at Barney's. There really is nothing like the magic of NYC during the holidays to get you in the spirit. Click here to check out our pics from last year.

Scenes From The Weekend

{Chris & I walked around 5th Ave and took pics of the awesome store windows}
I started to feel the countdown towards Christmas this past weekend.  So many things to do, so little time.  I made a promise to enjoy every step of the way instead of stressing out.  Isn't that what the holidays should be about anyway?  Here's a quick look into my weekend...
 {laughed out loud while reading Mindy Kaling's latest book}
 {hit up Michael's for my holiday baking packaging}
 {purchased some baking supplies}
{got a little glittery with the nailpolish}
