Eye Candy of The Week

{fancy necklace and a heather tee- opposites definitely attract}
 Yay, the weekend is finally upon us! Plans for this weekend include a visit to the Field of Terror. I am crossing my fingers that snow does not spoil the party. Have a great weekend!

DIY: Native American Headdress

 I am not one for spending a lot, if any money on Halloween costumes.  I usually go through my wardrobe and figure out what I can put together.  This year I concocted a Native American get up using the contents of my closet with the exception of the headdress.  For this I took the DIY approach.

You can use whatever materials you would like, but these are what I used:

- Assorted colored feathers
- A strip of suede
- 7/8" black grossgrain ribbon
- turquoise beads
- gold glitter puff paint
- glue gun
-scissors
Take the strip of suede, fold in half and make small snips about 1/2" away from each end.
 Loop through enough ribbon to be able to secure the band around your head.
 Decide where you want to place the feathers.
 Hot glue to the back of the suede.
I hot glued a peacock feather and turquoise beads to the front.
 I filled the bead holes with some glittery gold puff paint.
Ta da!  The end product.  I will show you pictures of how it looked on next week ; )

Halloween Mini Oreo Pumpkin Cheesecakes

This simple recipe is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit.  The orange Halloween Oreos would have been ideal to use for the crust, but the supermarket was all out so I went the traditional route.  For this yummy recipe click here.

Scenes From the Weekend

{celebrated our anniversary/Jorge & Lorena's wedding}
This weekend was one of those that I never wanted to end. We had an AMAZING time at Jorge and Lorena's wedding. So much fun, so many laughs! My husband has a wonderful family that I am honored to be a part of.
After recuperating we enjoyed the gorgeous fall weather the rest of the weekend had to offer. Have a great week everyone!
 {borrowed my sister Ellie's fabulous panther cuff}
 {enjoyed the gorgeous weather}
 {scored these vintage earrings for $1 at a garage sale}
{accompanied Chris to photograph some artwork}

Five.

I can't believe today is our 5th wedding anniversary!  Time has gone by so quickly, it's kind of crazy. Tonight we are actually attending another wedding. Chris' cousin Jorge and his lovely fiancé Lorena are tying the knot. It's pretty awesome that we get to relive our day through them. Happy Anniversary, my love. I love you more than words can express. Let the celebrating begin!

Current Favorite Beauty Buys

 I've heard nothing but good things about L'Oreal's Elnett hairspray, but I was a little apprehensive about spending $13 on hairspray. When it comes to beauty products I'd much rather take the bargain route. I finally broke down and bought it and I LOVE IT!!! Seriously, the best stuff ever. It keeps the hold without being super sticking and making you look like a helmet head.

 I had a set of these large velcro rollers by Goody back in the day. Now that my hair is getting longer I can actually use them again. They are excellent for creating volume.

 I am crazy about this foundation brush by Posh. Unlike many others it doesn't leave a streaky finish, blends very nicely and leaves you with flawless coverage.

 This Super Skinny Marker by NYX is currently my favorite liquid liner. You can create an ultra thin line or keep building upon it to create a sexy cat eye. It's super easy to use.

Cover Girl's Hot Passion lipstick with a touch of Revlon's Fire lipgloss on the center of the lower lip. Perfect colors for a classic red pout.

Felt Floppies

I've always loved a great hat. The accessory of the season has got to be the felt floppy. Just about every hat from Rag & Bone is on my wish list, but I decided to be a little more budget conscious and buy a wide brimmed floppy from Forever 21 {pictured above}. I have a feeling it will be my "go to" on bad hair days. Check out these other great options...

Pumpkin Picking

A whole crew of us went pumpkin picking this weekend. It's so much more fun when you have two tiny people accompanying you. Here are some photos of our awesome day. Check out our trip to the pumpkin patch last year here.
