Fall Must: Python & Polka Dots

{Intermix}
Python and polka dots are huge this season. These prints are extremely versatile. Try pairing a python print blouse with flare jeans and a boyfriend blazer for a casual look. Those polka dot palazzos from Topshop would look great paired with a plain jewel toned button down and some chunky gold chains. Whatever your style there is a place in your wardrobe for these hot patterns.

Jillian's Birthday Brunch

On Sunday we celebrated my sister Jillian's birthday by going to brunch at the Chart House. They have an amazingly delicious buffet on Sunday's. We were a pretty big group, about 13 of us. Needless to say we had a great time. Happy Birthday, Jillian!!!

A Trip to The Union Square Greenmarket

Chris and I started this Labor Day weekend with a trip to the Union Square Greenmarket.  We stocked up on some fresh veggies for our end of summer dinner party.  If you have never gone to the Greenmarket you should definitely go.  There is an array of products from local farms.  From organic produce to organic wines, you are sure to find something to bring home.  Check it out...

 {images of the ultimate sexy European summer}
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Labor Day weekend. I have no complaints about this summer. It was pretty amazing. This weekend we're hosting a little end of summer dinner party, going to a celebratory birthday brunch for my sister Jill, and just enjoying every last drop of the summer. Have fun and stay safe!

5 Awesome Host Gifts

{a cocktail shaker both Chris & I could appreciate}
I come from the belief that you should always bring something when you are invited to a get together.  A bottle of wine or something to eat is always sure to please, but here are five memorable gifts to thank your gracious host—and score an invitation back ; )

Piña Colada Popsicles

 I can't think of a better way to celebrate the end of the summer season than with these piña colada popsicles.  The addition of Malibu rum makes these pops strictly for adults.  Perfect for an end of summer soiree.  Here is what you need:
1 Can Cream of Coconut
1 Can Pineapple rings in juice
3/4 - 1 cup of Malibu Rum
Blend all ingredients.  Pour into popsicle molds and freeze for at least 12 hours.

Me, Chris, and Irene

 {Chris set up an emergency evacuation kit for us, complete with packs of Ramen}
 {setting up the blanket tent}
Luckily Irene wasn't the crazy b*tch we thought she would be and for this we are truly thankful. It rained quite a bit and the wind shook our windows, but the power remained on, everything stayed in place and there was no flooding or leaks in our apartment. The only damage around our neighborhood were a few tree limbs down here and there. Our weekend was spent inside. I made sangria, homemade pizza, and red velvet chocolate chip cookies while Chris set up our blanket tent. We watched a mini marathon of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding (our new addiction; mine for the tackiness, Chris' for the bare knuckle fighting) while sipping sangria under our makeshift tent. It was nice to stay inside and just be together.
