I was on the search for a new pair of flat sandals the other day. All the designs that caught my eye had some kind of decorative embellishment, that quite frankly I could have done myself and pay a fraction of the price. Enter this easy DIY. It is not a quick one, but watching TV shows on my DVR helped the time fly by. Here are the steps...

DIY: Shoe Re-vamp
{before}
This shoe re-vamp was another case of me contemplating getting rid of a very old pair of shoes. Instead of putting them in the Goodwill bin I decided to give them a little spring makeover. As mentioned here, all things mint have been on my mind. So, there was really no hesitation when choosing a main color. Here's a little breakdown of the process...
{satin finish craft paint, masking tape, 2 pyramid studs, needle nose pliers, small paint brush}
{I painted the studs with Martha Stewart's Satin finish craft paint in Geranium}
{used masking tape to protect the shoes then painted 3 coats of Martha's Satin finish in Seafoam}
{once dry poked through the studs and used pliers to secure}
End result: A brand new pair of spring shoes!

Straight To The Point
Ladies, it's time to dust off those pointy shoes you have been storing in your closet for the past five+ years. The pointy toe is back and better than ever. Whether you decide to pair them up with jeans, trousers, or flirty dresses the possibilities are endless. I'm especially excited about the return of the pointy kitten heel. My ankles are already thanking me.

Head Over Socked Heels
So the no socks with sandals "rule" has gone out the window. Pick up a recent issue of any major fashion magazine, or check out the fall collections from Marc Jacobs, Prada, Rodarte, and countless others and you will see this nerdy-chic trend. Here are a few sandal/sock combos...
I'm not completely sold on this look myself. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks super cute on other people, but I guess I just have to find the right sock/sandal combo. What are your thoughts on this trend?

Christian Louboutin Winter 2010 - 2011
I don't think I really need to explain myself, right? The man is a genius. Granted I just may break an ankle while trying to walk in these beauties, but look at them! Aren't they the things shoe porn fantasies are made of? Oh, Mr. Louboutin you can do no wrong in my eyes. To see the entire winter 2010 - 2011 line click here.
