Have a Great Weekend!

I hope to enjoy the official last weekend of the summer (weather permiting) with some fun in the sun.  In order to truly enjoy one last summer hurrah I think I may have to indulge in some Chozen ice cream....
It is a kosher frozen treat inspired by traditional Jewish desserts.  The five flavors available so far are Coconut Macaroon, Ronne's Rugelach (after co-founder Ronne Fisher), Matzoh Crunch, Chocolate Babka and new addition Apples and Honey. FYI, all baked goods used in the ice cream are from local Brooklyn bakeries.  Yum!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Road Trippin'

Hey everyone!  Sorry that I've been MIA for the past couple of days.  Last week Chris and I took a little road trip to Virginia Beach and met up with my family.  Here are a few random shots I took...

It was so nice to be away even if it was only for a few days. Now back to reality.

NYC Summer Streets

Hi Everyone!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Here are some photos from Summer Streets this weekend.  It was such a wonderful time, even if I am still a little sore from all the bike riding...
We rode our bikes from 56th and Park Ave all the way over the Brooklyn Bridge.  From Brooklyn we rode back to Central Park which was a killer, but I wouldn't change it for anything.  We had pleny of breaks in between.  It was a great day and great memories were made.

Have a Great Weekend!

This week has gone by in a flash.  Thank goodness!  Tomorrow I plan on enjoying NYC's Summer Streets to the fullest.  It has been a tradition for the past three summers.  I will share photos on Monday.  On another note my photo of Porchetta NYC's mouth watering porchetta was yesterday's Savory Sight on Yumsugar.com.

Make it a great weekend everyone! ; )

Why Does it Always Fly By...

...the weekend that is!  It literally is over in the blink of an eye.  I had a pretty good weekend.  I hope you did too.  Here are a few pics of my Saturday morning...
After much needed haircuts, my sister and I walked around Little Italy...
...we grabbed up a couple of slices...
...then enjoyed some gelato at Ferrara's.  She had vanilla with fudge and I had pine nut.
How was your weekend?

Midsummer Melancholy

It's that time again!  When it's 90+ degrees out and the retailers already have their fall merchandise out on full display.  Personally this time makes me a little melancholy.  It means summer is almost over ; /
Before the summer officially ends I would like to...
{Enjoy a few more iced coffees}
{Spend a little more time at the beach}
{Get another mani/pedi in a brightly colored hue}
{Wear a few more sundresses}
{Ride my bike until sunset}
Are you over the summer yet?

Romper Room

The weather was pretty hot this weekend.  Chris and I decided to ride our bikes at the park.  All I had in mind was being super comfy and staying cool.  I found this romper at Marshall's for $14.99 and couldn't resist.  On this occasion I decided to pair it with an old pair of Chucks, but I can't wait to rock it with some embellished sandals or wedges and a few accessories.  We rode our bikes to a nearby Rita's for some frozen custard and Italian Ice to refresh ourselves.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride my bike.

I've been all about riding my bike lately.  While on the search for the perfect bell and basket I stumbled upon these awesome bicycle accessories...
{The cutest bell ever}
{vintagey bike baskets}
{wasn't looking for a reflective pin, but now I want one}
{an intimidating bike lock}
{a comfy, yet cute saddle}
{I think I need this shopper in my life}
Do you have a bike?  If so, are you into "accessorizing" it?

Food Porn of The Week: Charritos & Archetypus

{Stuffed poblano and chicken chilaquiles}
{Charritos handpainted menus}
{The fresh guacamole made tableside was soooo good}
{Enchiladas Suizas}
{our "cave" at Archetypus}
{Brownie a La Mode}
{Tiramisu w/Vanilla ice cream and ladyfingers}
My family and I went out to dinner for my b-day.  Since Mexican is my favorite we went to Charritos which is a local restaurant that opened a new location with spectacular views of the New York skyline.  The food was good, but the guacamole was insanely delicious.
Instead of birthday cake I just wanted to go out for dessert.  So, we went to Archetypus, which has been around for years.  They are well know for their "caves" and desserts.  The tiramisu was perfect.  After all that tasty food I think it's time for a long bike ride. ; )

Birfday.

This past Saturday I spent some time with great family and friends doing some pre-birthday celebrating (today is my actual birthday).  We went to the Top of The Strand for a few drinks.  The view was incredible.  You felt like you could almost reach out and touch the Empire State Building.  The decor was gorgeous.  It kind of had a South Beach feel to it.  After a few rounds of over priced cocktails we decided to head over to BBQs for some yummy food and economical drinks.  It was a great time.
